After successfully delivering more than £40-billion-worth of projects as a legal adviser, candid's founder then chose to join an existing client – an international defence and advanced engineering business – in the newly-created role of Head of Commercial.
His role there involved working closely with all other business functions to do whatever it took to help the company do better business with its customers and its suppliers - such as spearheading a comprehensive change of the purchasing function, or finding better ways to protect and exploit the company's intellectual property.
